Service to Ohio University and the Chapter.   A graduate of Bethany College, where he pledged and served two terms as president of Phi Chapter, Rudy received an advanced degree from Kent State University.   Joel spent 22 years at Ohio University serving as director of residence life, associate dean of students, dean of students and vice president for student affairs and dean of students.   After he retired from OU he went on to become the 7th executive director (chief operating officer) of the Phi Kappa Tau National Fraternity.   He has served the chapter as chair of the Board of Governors, member of the House Corporation and an advisor.   He received the Key Award for his service to Beta and was made an honorary Beta Chapter member in 1998.
