DeVore has served as president of Otterbein College one of Ohio's premier private institutions since 1984. He held top positions at Kent and Hiram before going on serve as president of Davis and Elkins in West Virginia. He serves on the Private Industry Council of Columbus and on the Board of Riverside Methodist Hospital. He is a past member of the Phi Kappa Tau National Council and is a current member of the Phi Kappa Tau Foundation Board.   Brent was inducted into the Ohio University Greek Alumni Hall of Fame.
